Arabian Myth Breaks Maiden at Mornington Mornington, VIC &ndash;&nbsp; 2/11/2025 A bright Peninsula Cup Day for connections as Arabian Myth sprinted home under Rhys Mcleod,&nbsp; to claim his long-awaited first win under the care of Vincent Hall at Mornington Racecourse. The chestnut gelding, by Pride of Dubai out of It&rsquo;s a Myth, had showed promise through his maiden campaign and today delivered the breakthrough in emphatic style. Arabian Myth was a recent tried horse purchase off the popular Inglis Digital auction site. Purchased for $6500, he made his large group of owners very happy by winning a $55,000 maiden. For many of his owners, this is their first foray into racehorse ownership and they immensely enjoyed the hospitality of the Melbourne Racing Club.&nbsp;

Harmonett, ridden by Rhys McLeod, surged through from well back to take the win in Race 8, holding off challengers in a tight finish.&nbsp;This win adds to an impressive streak: Vincent Hall has secured four wins from his last five runners &mdash; a remarkable strike rate that underscores his rise in Victorian provincial racing.

In an inspiring scene at the Wangaratta racecourse on Saturday, six-year-old mare Harmonett stormed home to claim a stirring win &mdash; her first since returning from a 7 month long tendon injury rehab. The victory wasn&rsquo;t just a triumph of athleticism, but a testament to patience and dedication from trainer Vincent Hall.
Harmonett won two races in quick succession after joining Halls stable in June last year before unfortunately suffering a tendon injury in a brave 2nd placed run at Geelong. Her ownership group were very patient, rather than rush her return, her owners chose the long road &mdash; opting for careful rehabilitation, rest, and conditioning, putting the mare&rsquo;s wellbeing first.
Jockey Rhys Mcleod, who guided Harmonett to victory in the 1300m race, praised the mare&rsquo;s courage and fitness.
&ldquo;She was great,&rdquo; the jockey said post-race. &ldquo;She jumps so cleanly and just put herself right there in the race, she had it won a long way out.&rdquo;

Harmonett, Halls Second Winner For The Week

A bond lasting more than two decades produced another memory when Dubai Watch prevailed in a driving finish at Sandown on Wednesday.
Jockey Luke Currie got everything out of Dubai Watch in the last 150m to get the gelding home a nose ahead of Bold Strike for his fourth win in his last five starts for Mornington trainer Vincent Hall.
The pair first met when Hall started his riding career during which he was one of Australia's best apprentices before rising weight forced him out of the saddle.
However, Hall said he and Currie have been friends for the entire period.
"He's a touch older than me and he took me under his wing," Hall said.
"I was only 16 or 17 and we've been great mates since then.
"We have 25 years of friendship and it's great to support him. He's a great jockey.
"He deserves everything he gets."
Dubai Watch gave Hall his second win at metropolitan level, which he said was a welcome boost for the business he was developing with his partner Briar Stobie on the Mornington Peninsula.
"It's a perfect result. Me and Briar work in well together and she does a great job with this horse," Hall said.
"He can be quite fierce, or he was when he came to us, and she's got him grounded and working beautifully.
"We're getting good results buying tried horses and we have some young ones there that take time.

Dubai Watch Is A City Winner

Promising galloper Dubai Watch delivered a standout performance at Geelong on Friday, scoring an impressive win in the 0-64 handicap over&nbsp;1700 metres with seasoned jockey Luke Currie guiding the gelding to victory.
Dubai Watch settled beautifully at the rear of the field before launching a well-timed run in the straight, showing both class and determination to reel in the leaders and pull clear late. The victory marked another important step in the horse&rsquo;s development, confirming the team&rsquo;s belief in his staying potential.
Currie&rsquo;s ride was a masterclass in patience and precision. Speaking after the race, he praised the horse&rsquo;s professionalism and turn of foot.
