Harmonett Triumphs at Wangaratta After Long Tendon Rehab
WANGARATTA, VIC – August 23, 2025
In an inspiring scene at the Wangaratta racecourse on Saturday, six-year-old mare Harmonett stormed home to claim a stirring win — her first since returning from a 7 month long tendon injury rehab. The victory wasn’t just a triumph of athleticism, but a testament to patience and dedication from trainer Vincent Hall.
Harmonett won two races in quick succession after joining Halls stable in June last year before unfortunately suffering a tendon injury in a brave 2nd placed run at Geelong. Her ownership group were very patient, rather than rush her return, her owners chose the long road — opting for careful rehabilitation, rest, and conditioning, putting the mare’s wellbeing first.
Jockey Rhys Mcleod, who guided Harmonett to victory in the 1300m race, praised the mare’s courage and fitness.
“She was great,” the jockey said post-race. “She jumps so cleanly and just put herself right there in the race, she had it won a long way out.”
